Leveraging Medical Education in Egypt

President and Chief Scientist of SMART CONSULT as well as members of the Board of Directors enjoy a successful outreach and engagement with several dignitaries and key decision makers both in the US and Egypt, including business leaders, corporate executives, key investors, political figures, ministers and influential members of the US and Egyptian societies. This mutual respect and regard have helped SMART CONSULT leadership advocate and support multiple global initiatives in matters related to healthcare, science and technology benefiting professionals in both regions. Dr. El Fiky enjoys close collaboration with Egypt’s Ministry of Emigration and Egyptian Expatriate Affairs in bridging contribution of Egyptian scientists to their homeland, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research as an Advisor to the Borg Al-Arab City for Research, as well as Egypt’s Ministry of Defense in advising on their basic and clinical research agenda at the Army’s medical research command.

On the United States side, Dr. El Fiky was appointed as a Vice Chairman of the Middle Eastern American Advisory Committee affiliated with the Office of the Montgomery County Executive. The committee aims at integrating the county residents from middle eastern descent with the local community resources and bridge cultural gaps for the purposes of celebrating democracy and endorsing diversity. From 2009-2011, Dr. El Fiky was appointed by Martin O’Malley former Governor of Maryland and US presidential candidate as a member of the Governor’s Commission on American Middle Eastern Affairs.
